What is a photographer looking for when buying

ﬂash equipment? Of course, it's the quality of the light

produced. It just has to be good: evenly distributed,

reliable, colour stable, and fast. Also, it's the range of

tools available. Naturally it should be comprehensive,

including reﬂectors, snoots, spotlights, ringﬂashes,

a unique zooming system.

The ﬂash tube is placed free

and open in the head, giving a

focusable light source. Using

the zoom, the photographer

literally has ﬁngertip control

of the light. The focusing is controlled by pushing the

reﬂector forwards or backwards. This adjustment

changes the angle and effect of the light.

Every tool in the Profoto Pro-7 family covers a certain

creative light shaping domain. Using the handy

5- and 7-foot reﬂectors (153 and 213 centimeters), even

large motives can be brilliantly and evenly illuminated.

The Pro-7 Ring ﬂash, on the other hand, is perfect for

ﬁll-light or serving as a

striking main light. The Soft

light reﬂector is the optimal

solution for enhancing

portraits, while the

ProFresnel Spot simulates

direct sunlight. Having a

multitude of different light

shaping tools is a must

for non-compromising

illumination. Then again,

the standard wide-angle

reﬂector alone, using the

unique zoom function, gives a remarkable range

of possibilites. In the studio or on location.
